To promote application innovation of edge computing technologies and products, facilitate the rapid incubation of high-value and replicable innovative edge computing solutions, and accelerate the demonstration and promotion of edge computing technologies, products, and standard components across application fields, the Global Computing Consortium Edge Computing Development Group and the Edge Computing Special Group of the Alliance of Industrial Internet will jointly hold the “2024 Edge Computing Application Case Collection” campaign from October to December 2024.

Scope of Collection

1. Applications shall be submitted by automation, information technology, and intelligent edge computing solution providers and application enterprises that are registered and operating in China or overseas.

2. The collection targets edge computing application cases used in enterprise operation processes such as product R&D and design, product manufacturing, enterprise operation management, and customer and market services, and applied in different industries including industrial manufacturing, cities, transportation, power, energy, agriculture, food, healthcare, education, logistics, and retail.

Eligibility Requirements

The intellectual property owner of the submitted case shall be an enterprise registered and operating in China or overseas, and shall meet the following conditions:

1. The application case adopts edge computing technology, has been successfully applied in the market, has generated clear economic and social benefits, and has been fully proven by facts or widely recognized by beneficiaries.

2. The application case has clear innovative content, ideas, and measures in areas such as architecture innovation, technology innovation, application innovation, service innovation, and business model innovation.

Evaluation Criteria

1. Functionality

    The problems that the application case can solve for users and the functions it can realize are at an advanced level in the industry, including the industry ranking of key indicators.

2. Innovation

    The achievements made by the application case in architecture innovation, technology innovation, application innovation, service innovation, business model innovation, and other areas.

3. Application Effect

    The actual application scope and degree of application of the case.

4. Maturity

    The degree to which the application case can be implemented.

5. Value

    The economic and social benefits generated after the practical application of the case.

6. Demonstration Effect

    The visibility and influence formed by the innovative achievements of the application case within the industry, as well as its demonstration and promotion significance.

Collection Procedure

1. Launch and Announcement

    The “2024 Edge Computing Application Case Collection” campaign will officially launch on October 28, 2024. The announcement will be released on the official websites and WeChat official accounts of the Global Computing Consortium Edge Computing Development Group and the Alliance of Industrial Internet.

2. Application

    Eligible enterprises may submit applications within the specified period. Representative application cases will be arranged for publication on the website and WeChat account of the Global Computing Consortium Edge Computing Development Group.

3. Review

    A joint expert panel formed by the Global Computing Consortium Edge Computing Development Group and the Edge Computing Special Group of the Alliance of Industrial Internet will discuss and score the application materials, and determine the selected cases for the “2024 Edge Computing Application Case Collection.” No more than two cases from the same company will be selected in the final results.

4. Result Announcement

    The selected results will be announced publicly in mid-December 2024.

Material Requirements

1. Complete the application form for the “2024 Edge Computing Application Case Collection.”

2. Submit detailed descriptions and supporting materials for relevant innovation and performance achievements. The participating enterprise shall prepare the materials independently, and the writing format may refer to the requirements in the attached application form.
