On the afternoon of January 9, 2025, the Standards Working Group meeting of the GCC Next-Generation BIOS Special Interest Group was held in Meeting Room 201, Building E, Shenzhen-Hong Kong International Science and Technology Park, Futian District, Shenzhen. Representatives from Huawei, China Electronics Standardization Institute, Kunlun Tech, Byosoft, AMI, xFusion, iSoftStone, Huakun Zhenyu, and many other Special Interest Group member organizations and industry partners gathered to jointly discuss the development of next-generation BIOS standards.

At the meeting, the Executive Secretary of the Special Interest Group summarized the work of the Standards Working Group in 2024 and outlined the plan for 2025. Since the establishment of the Technical Standards Working Group in September 2024, significant progress has been made. Two standards have been successfully initiated, and drafting work is progressing steadily. At the same time, a preliminary next-generation BIOS computing standards system has been established around technical architecture and unified interfaces.

In 2025, the working group will further implement standards work from four directions: industrial ecosystem, standards advancement, evaluation and certification, and industry applications.

During the meeting, participating organizations held in-depth discussions on technical architecture standards and put forward a number of valuable suggestions, which will be incorporated into future standards development. In the discussion on interface standards, all parties reached a consensus that interface standards should effectively solve real customer problems, and preliminary discussions were also held on the RAS direction. Going forward, further discussions will be carried out by field around customer issues to promote the implementation of interface standards.

This seminar laid a solid foundation for the improvement and implementation of next-generation BIOS standards and will support the development of the global computing industry.

At the 2025 Global Computing Conference Global Computing Consortium Launch Conference held on January 10, the Next-Generation BIOS Special Interest Group made its official public debut. The Secretary-General received the GCC plaque on behalf of the Special Interest Group at the conference.

In the future, the Special Interest Group will build on the outcomes of this seminar, continue to improve the standards system, strengthen in-depth cooperation with member organizations and industry partners, promote the broad application of next-generation BIOS standards in the global computing industry, lead the industry into a new stage of development, and inject strong momentum into innovation and transformation across the global computing industry.
