On March 13, 2025, the first member meeting of the Green Computing Development Group (GC DG) of the Global Computing Consortium (GCC) was grandly held in Beijing, China. The meeting brought together representatives from leading technology chip vendors, operating system vendors, firmware vendors, server vendors, system integrators, user organizations, and research institutions, jointly witnessing a new starting point for the development of the green computing industry.

The Global Computing Consortium was officially registered on June 26, 2024, and resolved to establish the Green Computing Development Group at the Second Meeting of the First Board of Directors on July 19, 2024. The group is committed to promoting the improvement of the ARM computing ecosystem, building a green and energy-efficient computing system, and creating a more open, efficient, and secure computing environment.
The meeting introduced and discussed the overall preparation of the Green Computing Development Group, its work plan, working regulations, the preparation status of each working group, and key work plans. Ren Xiang, Board Member of the Global Computing Consortium, congratulated the convening of the meeting and emphasized during the meeting: “Promoting the development of green computing is not only about technological innovation, but also requires close collaboration across the upstream and downstream of the industrial chain to jointly build an open, low-carbon, and efficient computing ecosystem.”
The Chair, Vice Chairs, and members of the management team come from the Fourth Institute of Electronics, Arm China, Huawei, Phytium, China Telecom, KylinSoft, Ant Group, CIX, and xFusion. These leaders and experts will play a core leadership role in future work and promote the smooth progress of the Green Computing Development Group’s various initiatives.
At the meeting, members of the management team provided valuable suggestions on the work of the Consortium. As a global international organization, GCC should better play the role of an international organization, provide a platform for external exchange and cooperation, and enable the innovative achievements of the computing industry to better benefit society. The leaders of each working group also discussed the key work plans for the year with member representatives attending the meeting and reached consensus.
The first management team reviewed the standard Technical Requirements for Software and Hardware Compatibility Certification Based on Arm Architecture Server Platforms. Based on the Arm SystemReady standards system, this standard also adds technical requirements suited to localized needs, forming a complete evaluation system. It aims to address fragmentation issues from underlying hardware, firmware, and operating systems to upper-layer applications, further enabling green computing products to rapidly improve from being usable to being easy to use, and providing more product assurance for industry users.
The successful convening of this meeting marks the official launch of the Green Computing Development Group. The group will continue to promote the improvement of the green computing industrial ecosystem, strengthen international cooperation, and promote the broad application of green computing technologies.
Through standards development, certification system construction, and industry promotion, the Green Computing Development Group will build a more open, low-carbon, and efficient computing environment and contribute to the sustainable development of the global computing industry.
Together, we move forward and co-create the future.
Welcome to join.
