On May 13, 2025, the Second Plenary Meeting of the Energy Saving And Decarbonization Special Interest Group of the Global Computing Consortium (GCC) was held in Beijing.

The meeting brought together representatives from more than ten organizations, including the China National Institute of Standardization, China Mobile, China Telecom, Haier, Huawei, Inspur, Hygon, xFusion, Datang Storage, Dalian Jiayun, and South China University of Technology. Participants jointly discussed key standards and energy efficiency benchmark projects for energy saving and carbon reduction in computing infrastructure.
At the meeting, two standards and three industry report projects were reviewed and approved for initiation. These include:
* Evaluation Methods and Indicators for the Energy Efficiency of Rack Servers
* Energy Efficiency Benchmark for Data Storage Equipment
* Technical Report on Large Temperature Difference Cooling Systems
* Evaluation and Optimization Methods for Computing Power Energy Efficiency in Data Centers
* Research Report on Digital and Intelligent Technologies Empowering Air Conditioning Energy Savings
The meeting also held an open discussion on the background requirements and latest progress of the International Standard for Resource-Efficient Software, and invited member organizations to submit proposals.
The initiation of these standards and research projects will help improve the energy efficiency of computing infrastructure and promote the low-carbon development of the computing industry. Against the backdrop of China’s dual-carbon goals, these efforts carry strategic significance.
