The 2025 China Computing Platform and Application Conference successfully concluded in Chengdu. As a benchmark event for deep integration among industry, academia, and research in the computing power sector, this year’s conference brought together experts and scholars from universities, research institutes, and enterprises.
Focusing on frontier technologies in computing platforms, innovation in industry applications, and the coordinated development of AI large models, the conference offered new ideas for industrial upgrading.
GCC HPC Committee Makes a Strong Appearance, Showcasing Its Global Ecosystem Connectivity
During the conference, the GCC HPC Industry Development Committee set up a dedicated exhibition area to present its professional capabilities as China’s only industry organization in the computing field with global operation qualifications.
GCC has always taken “promoting open innovation in the computing industry, building a robust and prosperous ecosystem, and supporting the sustainable development of a digital and intelligent society” as its mission, while working to realize its vision of “new computing empowering the digital and intelligent society.”
As GCC’s core branch organization for business development in the HPC field, the HPC Industry Development Committee focuses on four key areas:
1. Building a global open-source cooperation platform to support the development of the global HPC ecosystem;
2. Establishing an ARM-based HPC open-source suite sharing platform to bring together developers and promote wider technology adoption;
3. Gathering experts in the HPC field to promote cross-industry collaborative innovation and provide integrated “technology + industry” solutions;
4. Developing benchmark cases and talent training systems to promote the implementation of best practices.
The exhibition area attracted many conference participants for exchanges and discussions. In particular, attendees showed strong interest in the industry-academia-research-application activities planned by the HPC Industry Development Committee for 2025–2026.

By connecting global resources with local innovation, the HPC Industry Development Committee continues to provide targeted services for its members and support the rapid development of the ARM-based high-performance computing industry.
Frontier Insights: Lightweight Large Model Evaluation Practices in Universities Draw Attention
On July 10, during the Computing Platform Session, Lin Xinhua, Chair of the Management Committee of the GCC HPC Industry Development Committee and Deputy Director and Doctoral Supervisor at the Network & Information Center of Shanghai Jiao Tong University, delivered a keynote speech titled Preliminary Evaluation of Lightweight Multimodal Large Models and Text-Based Large Models in University Scenarios.

The presentation provided an in-depth analysis of optimization paths and technical challenges for large model deployment in university computing scenarios, offering important reference value for AI applications in education and scientific research. The speech received an enthusiastic response from the audience.
Building the Future of Computing Power: Open Cooperation and Ecosystem Win-Win
At this year’s conference, the GCC HPC Industry Development Committee once again demonstrated its value as a key connector in the computing industry. Through professional platform building, technical resource sharing, and a global cooperation network, it continues to drive innovation in computing power and enrich the HPC industrial ecosystem.
Looking ahead, the HPC Industry Development Committee will further expand industrial development opportunities by leveraging the global open-source ecosystem and a matrix of industry-academia-research-application activities. More partners are welcome to join and work together for shared development.
