May 16, 2025, Shenzhen, China — Against the backdrop of accelerating global digital transformation, the international security standards organization GlobalPlatform and the Global Computing Consortium (GCC) today officially signed a three-year strategic cooperation Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). This cooperation will focus on key technology areas such as Trusted Execution Environment (TEE) and remote attestation, and jointly build a trusted computing standards system.
Strategic cooperation highlights:
Technical exchange: Through technical workshops and expert exchange mechanisms, the two sides will share GlobalPlatform’s best practices in digital security certification and GCC’s best practices in computing security.
Standards activities: The two sides will establish a joint working group to jointly participate in the development of technical standards and specifications in the field of confidential computing, with a focus on breakthroughs in key technical bottlenecks such as remote attestation and trusted execution environments.
Ecosystem collaboration: By leveraging their respective regional resource advantages, the two sides will jointly build a trusted computing industry ecosystem involving member enterprises.
Ana Tavares Lattibeaudiere, Executive Director of GlobalPlatform, said: “By combining GlobalPlatform’s trusted execution environment standards and certification system with the confidential computing standards system of the Global Computing Consortium, we will provide more secure and reliable digital solutions for enterprises worldwide.”
Dr. Peng Peng, Secretary-General of GCC, stated: “In the AI era, computing security has become the cornerstone of digital economy development. We look forward to building trusted computing infrastructure covering the globe through in-depth cooperation with GlobalPlatform.”
Gil Bernabeu, Chief Technology Officer of GlobalPlatform, and Miao Fuyou, Chief Technology Officer of the GCC Secretariat, also attended the signing ceremony. The two sides also discussed potential cooperation opportunities in conformity testing and certification for computing security standards.
